Yesterday I was all excited going ta Castle Coome. Well we looked an we looked but there was NO castle. Turned out ta be tha name of the prettiest village so not tooooo bad. Her camera threw a tanty so no photos.
Today I was wantin a REAL castle, battlements, arrow slits, moat… you know what a castle should be right? So Malissa googled ‘real castles near Bath’ and Farleigh Hungerford Castle came up.
14th Century fortress mainly in ruins but chapel, crypt and some walls …. whadya expect when it’s olda than Australia?
Here’s me on guard duty on tha battlements. See tha top of tha chapel? I’m a brave wombat!
When no one was lookin I took a big set of keys out ov the crypt door for my good friend Stephs birthday. Theyz old and rusty but she likes that stuff. As usual, SHE will miss her only daughters birthday. Does it every year just about.
This is tha armor for horse ridin soldiers, they had stuff like this and it was edumacational.
Next we did a big circuit an went ta Lancock Abbey an tha Talbot Museum – he was tha bloke who invented photography and negatives. Smart guy he was. Tha Photographer of tha Year winners was on display too. Pretty good I spose.
Tha Abbey was special an has been used by lotsa films like Harry Potter. Amazin what lights an a smoke machine can do. Benny Cumberbund (from Sherlock Holmes) was in a series there too.
I wanna be in films too ya know. Afta I become famous for my book writin skills, then I can have a posh burrow. Not many wombats want ta be famous, they just wanna dig and eat an dig some more. I’m special.
Can ya see me in this one? Ya have ta look really close.
Anyway, tomorrow is Marks Birthday and he will be 60! He wantsa pie ana pint for his birthday lunch – easy buddy, don’t ova do it!
Hope ya all enjoying this adventure blog with me and are sharing wiv all your mates. I want ta be the most famous wombat in tha universe!
