Wilbur’s Travels – Battlements, Manuscripts and Art

town

This mornin we went into Vire. As with ALL the villages there are odd bits of walls, battlements an towers just plopped anywhere. Some of tha buildins are even built includin them which makes it interestin anyhow.

keep

Here I am scalin tha remains of tha keep, some of tha towers survived as well as wall bits but this huge bit just sits there!

view

Itsa great view from tha top of tha wall – She kept worryin about me bein blown ova tha edge but I wasn’t scared. Wombats are right heavy ya know.

My Great Granpa Wayne started tha Drop Bear myth when he was bet he couldn’t climb a tree!!! It’s truth!

Afta lunch we went ta tha Scriptorial D’Avranches (sounded real French there didn’t I? Olivia digs tha French accent). Saw some illuminated manuscripts that were in Mont St. Michaels (Remember tha mad hoomans staying out in tha cold?) and copies of relics. Some really old books an a film on how they rescued and fixed them an kept them safe in tha wars.

I wanted to get up high again cause that’s just tha kinda wombat I am. A real dare devil with ice in my veins an a love for tha open skies – I’d ride a Harley if my legs were longa!

While wanderin about after, She found Her first good Gallery (not an Atelier remember, that’s for one artist). It was called Gallerie D’Art Doublet an it had nice bronzes, really nice horse paintins and some bright (but great) palette knife works.

No photos allowed so just imagine it you lot.

Catch up with more news tomorrow.
